About Me

I am a work-at-home mom of 2 wonderful girls, ages 6 and 2.  You can check out my stuff on my Etsy Site. I've been crafting as long as I can remember - I remember being in elementary school and my mom buying me craft books where I could make things out of toilet paper rolls, pipe cleaners and all kinds of things.  I learned to sew the first time when I was about 9 and HATED every minute of it (maybe because my mom taught me over summer vacation and all I wanted to do was go outside and play).  When I got married a bought a super-duper basic manual sewing machine to make curtains, but it largely sat unused until my oldest daughter turned 3, when I started making clothes for her.

I come by crafting naturally - my mom sews, makes handmade baskets, makes handmade cards and cross-stitches, among other things.  I sew, make cards, scrapbook (or so I tell myself - I have about 6 pages of my oldest daughter done and no pages for my youngest), make candles, make hairbows, and do a lot of do-it-yourself home decorating, and am digging back into photography roots I developed in high school (back in the days of film and darkrooms).  I really want to learn to knit, but have kind of forbidden myself from picking up any other crafts right now!  :)

Life is crazy, but I firmly believe that with God all things are possible.  Sometimes we get to "soar on wings like eagles" and sometimes we just get to "walk and not grow faint" (Isaiah 40:31) but we get through it all because of Him, His great love for us, and the Savior He sent us.  I love my family, gardening, reading and all things caramel. I do not love organizing.  But I am trying very hard to.
